Miyun County (Simplified Chinese: 密云县; Traditional Chinese: 密雲縣; Hanyu Pinyin: Mìyún Xiàn) is situated at northeast Beijing. It has an area of 2,227 square kilometers and a population of 420,019 (2000 Census). The county is divided into 2 subdistricts of the city of Miyun, 17 towns, and 1 ethnic rural township.
Miyun urban area (104,863 in township) has an area of 15 square kilometers measured from the Google Earth image and an estimated population of 120,000.[1]
County's facilities include the Nanshan Ski Resort, one of the largest in the country.[1]
