In the mathematical community, the word modulo is often used informally, in a similar way to "up to". Generally, to say "A is the same as B modulo C" means, more-or-less, "A and B are the same except for differences accounted for or explained by C".
In the various branches of mathematics, it may be used in connection with:
- Modular arithmetic, a ≡ b (mod n)
- Modulo operation, in computing, the remainder after division
- Ideal (ring theory), a special subset of a ring
- Equivalence relation
It also may refer to:
