Spirituality[edit]

Spirituality is the key to unlock the potential of human mind. It is a springboard to traverse through the occult terrains and sublimate the mystical marvels of the universe.

“Learning is the beginning of spirituality” is the underlying precept of Mody University. It is the unflinching belief of Mody University that enriching the minds and nourishing the souls of students is an inalienable part of education to ensure their academic, intellectual and spiritual evolution. Value-based education is a sturdy foundation to accomplish their professional and personal aspirations.

Situated away from the hustle and bustle of cities, Mody University is an abode of tranquillity embellished with more than 12,000 trees of diverse variety, 14 fountains and 96 species of birds. Serenity resonates through the ramparts of the sprawling campus, spread across 265 acres, providing an ethereal ambience conducive for students to imbibe spiritual sapience.

‘Tapovan’ is an exquisite edifice encompassing a ‘Yagna-Shala’, a ‘Meditation Hall’, and a ‘Temple’. It is spread over 8 acres and is truly a ‘sanctum sanctorum’ of spirituality. At ‘Yagna-Shala’, 7 different kinds of Yagnas are performed from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.; each for the seven days of the week. The majestic temple remains open from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The grand celebrations are organised on the occasions of Ram Navmi, Janmashtami, Diwali, and other major festivals. They are attended by students, faculties, and people working at Mody University.

The vast Meditation Hall, with a sitting arrangement for around 200 people, is open for everyone who wishes to indulge in mediation and deep rumination. The classes for Yoga are also a regular feature. During the weekend, the eminently enlightening documentaries are broadcast enshrining the various aspects of spirituality, nature, and social issues.

In addition, there are an array of ‘Shila-Lekhs’ on which ancient and profound thoughts, dripping with wisdom, of noted philosophers and scholars are inscribed. The whole experience of being in the ‘Tapovan’ complex is delightfully divine. One feels an intrinsic sense of fulfilment and an uprush of beatific bliss. The spiritual hub – ‘Tapovan’ - is an idyllic getaway to unwind from the rigours of academic life.

The wholesome academic curriculum with a marked spiritual dimension ensures the holistic development of students and goes a long way in shaping them up as thoughtful, responsible and skilful future leaders. There are a couple of academic courses in Sanskrit and Vedic Astrology for students who wish to pursue higher education in this sphere. At Mody University, spirituality, much as education, is a way of life; an eternal pursuit for excellence.
