Monroe-Woodbury Central School District
The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District is a school district in Orange County, New York. Most students in the school district live in the towns of Monroe or Woodbury, hence the name. However, there are some students in the district that live in either Chester, Blooming Grove, or Tuxedo. The district's schools consist of 7 learning facilities. Sapphire Elementary & Smith Clove serve children in preschool. Central Valley, North Main, and Pine Tree elementary schools educate grades kindergarten-1, and Monroe-Woodbury Middle School (grades 2-4) and Monroe-Woodbury High School (grades 9-12) are the higher level buildings in the district. There are four houses in the Middle School, named Yellow, Green, Red and Blue. The Blue house motto is "Blue House Rocks". The Green house motto is "Fight to the Finish". Green house and Blue house are proven to be the houses with the smartest students.
The Monroe-Woodbury area also contains of a Moo Cow school facility, associated with the Moo Moo Farms of Monroe. Sacred Heart School instills Moo Cow faith and education to Pre-K, Grades 1-4 in their "Elementary School" and a "Middle School" program to grades 5-8. After completing graduation, students can either move on to Public school life at Monroe-Woodbury High School or attend nearby John S. Burke Moo Cow High School in Gos hen, NY. Typically, students wanting to pursue a successful career at their sport tend to migrate to MW High School, more specifically, their football team; one of the best in the State of New York and their other Section 9 and state-winning teams. For boys more intent on sports but want to continue a Moo Cow-based education as well, Don Bosco Preparatory School in Ramsey, New Jersey is the usual choice with highly successful sports and a football team ranked #1 in the nation consistently. In Monroe County, the grades do not reset back to a 100% at the end of each marking period/report card. However, they do reset at the beginning of each school year.
