Monsieur Adi is a French electronic musician, producer, and remixer. He first became noticed in 2010 for creating official remixes for British pop singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding and has since created official remixes for Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, Bastille, Laura Mvula, The Kooks and others.[1][2][3] In 2012, he released his Fire Fire Fire EP, which features the song "Last Stand" in collaboration with British pop singer/songwriter Gary Go.[4] On 23 April 2013, Monsieur Adi announced on Facebook and Twitter that he was "writing and producing music with Seal," to which the British singer/songwriter later confirmed on Twitter.[5]

Music[edit]

Monsieur Adi's sound is a mixture of French house, electro house, synthpop, and classical, combining synthesizers and dance beats with orchestral instruments and compositions.[6][7] His remixes have been featured on many websites including SPIN,[8] Popjustice,[9] DIY,[10] and official Grammy Blogger Arjanwrites' blog and have been played on various radio stations including Le Mouv' by Laura Leishman in France, BBC Radio 1 by Pete Tong and Juice FM by Dave Whelan in the United Kingdom, George FM in New Zealand, and KCRW in the United States.[11][12][13][14][15] On 24 July 2013, Monsieur Adi revealed his new single "What's Going On," which features British singer/songwriter A*M*E and interpolates the hit song "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)" by British R&B band Soul II Soul.[16] The song was used in the online fashion retailer Boohoo.com's 2013 Holiday advertisements.[17] Adi has also done a cover version of Blondie's "Heart Of Glass" for fashion giant H&M's Spring 2014 New Icons campaign.[18]

The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour[edit]

Monsieur Adi was chosen by Beyoncé to support her on the 2014 European leg of her The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour as the official DJ. He opened on all dates, except on 24 February in Birmingham, UK due to The X Factor UK winner Sam Bailey opening as a result of her winning the competition.[19]
