Moontown are a music group formed in 2003, in Dorchester, Dorset, England. Their music is hard to place in any one genre other than highly commercial. The sound is predominantly Flip-Hop although spans the genres of Trip-Hop, Pop, Soul, Dance and Chill. It brings together elements of Classical, Rock, and Drum and Bass to produce a contemporary Popular Music sound.

Their songs are always original compositions which is over 40 and growing. Toby is the composer, arranger, key-board player and co-producer with Emma as the vocalist and lyricist. Recordings and live performances include session musicians for guitar, bass and cello.[1]

Residing on the South coast, Moontown were formed by Toby Kilburn and Emma Friendship in 2003. Over the years they have played many gigs at a wide range of festivals, music venues and smaller renowned pubs and clubs, mainly along the South Coast, including Bristol, London and Brighton.[2]

Moontown are currently unsigned.

Moontown won the South Coast Idol copetition. They were crowned The Best Band in Dorset this April 2007 by judges Mark Hill (Craig David), and Tim Noble (Kylie Minogue).[3]
