Moori
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Moori is a Japanese manufacturer of billiards and pool cue tips. Each is said to be fabricated by hand by founder Hideo Moori in his home outside Tokyo. The tips are exclusively made from boar leather, and consist of several layers laminated and bonded with an adhesive. Reportedly,[weasel words] his process is so unique and secretive that Moori does not even allow his own wife into his workshop.
Moori was among the first to use a lamination technique that involves using thinner pieces of leather to make a high-quality tip. Several other manufacturers have followed suit by also producing laminated tips, including Talisman, Tiger, Japanese Molavia and Kamui.
Currently, Moori makes tips in three types of hardness: slow (soft), medium, and fast (hard).
