Morgan O'Neill is an Australian television and film actor, writer, director, and producer. He is also a singer and has his own band. O'Neill is best known for his continuing role as Lieutenant Darryl Smith on Australia's hit drama, Sea Patrol. Following his graduation from Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) with a degree in Performing Arts (Acting) in 1998, O'Neill played guest parts in both All Saints and Water Rats. O'Neill also appeared on Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, Joanne Lees: Murder in the Outback, Supernova and Little Oberon. In 2005 he won the first Project Greenlight Award of A$1,000,000 to make his film, Solo. Since then he has written and directed his second film, The Factory, which will be released in 2011.[dated info]
