Mount Frere, Eastern Cape

Mount Frere is a small town named after Sir Henry Bartle Edward Frere. The town is located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, about 100 km north east of Mthatha where it is home to the Bhaca, Hlubi and Mpondo people, a division of the Xhosa, and is one of the most developed communities in South Africa. . The Makaulas own most of the land and are the royal family in power in the area.
