EMS Stadium, formerly known as Corporation Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kozhikode, India. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 53,000 people and was built in 1977. It is equipped with floodlights for conducting both football and cricket matches. AFC Women Asia Cup the India team won silver in 1980. It was hosted in 1987 Nehru cup. Famous scissors cup finals, super cup finals, santhosh trophy, nagji trophy were held in this stadium. It also hosted many cultural events held at Kozhikode like malabar mahotsavam. It also hosted the inaugural performance of world tour of A. R. Rahman, the Academy Award–winning musician. Now the stadium is improved by floodlight. E K Nayanar football tournament 2011 It also will host 2013 National game football matches.Now it is renovated as international stadium and may hos federation cup 2013! The stadium may also be leased to KCA(kerala cricket association) while KFA would like the stadium in their possession.
