Munkir the White Guardian is a demon lord in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.

Publication history[edit]

Munkir was one of many demon lords that was mentioned only by name in a list in the original Monster Manual II (1983).[1]

Munkir received further details in third edition in Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss (2006).[2]

Munkir is a demon lord who, like his brother Nekir, is the lord of the afterlife, and the back door to Paradise.[2]

Munkir and Nekir are depicted on the cover of Living Greyhawk Journal #3 battling Azor'alq at the gates of Heaven.

Munkir and Nekir share the Abyssal layer known as the Gates of Heaven.[2]
