Emmett Jefferson "Murph" Murphy III (born December 21, 1964) is best known for being the drummer for the alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. [1]
[edit] Musical career
Murphy joined Dinosaur Jr. after being the drummer in the hardcore punk band All White Jury. He would remain in the band until leaving the group in 1993. He joined The Lemonheads in 1995.[2]
In April 2005 Murph returned to Dinosaur Jr. with J Mascis & Lou Barlow, reforming the original line-up.[3] The band recorded Beyond, a 2007 comeback album, and Farm in June 2009. The band has also steadily toured the world since reforming.
