Nil is a word commonly used to mean nothing or zero; it is one of several names for the number 0.

- nil probably does have it's origin in latin "nihil" meaning "nothing"
- NIL might stand for: "Not In List"
- "Nil" is used in some computer programming languages to indicate an invalid/uninitialized variable or the null pointer. See also Nullable type.
