Nagoya, also known as Lubuk Baja, is the main town of Batam, Indonesia. It is named so by one of the developers, who noticed a similarity of the area with Nagoya. However, like large cities, Batam is becoming a continuous urban sprawl, but private enterprises have chosen Nagoya. Batam's largest mall, Nagoya Hill, is located in Nagoya. Nagoya mall offers shopping for home appliances, fashion and there are many eateries (Godiva Coffee, Pizza Hut, etc.) found in the mall. There is a hypermart located in the mall too. Surrounded by a number of hotels ranging from 2 to 4 stars.

Right outside the Nagoya Hill Mall, there are many small roadside eateries offering barbecued seafood, satay (meat on a stick), otak-otak (fish cake), and local fare. Food are generally quite spicy.
