Najafabad is a city in Isfahan Province, Iran. In 2006 it had an estimated population of 208,647[1] (1991 pop. 160,004), (2002 pop. 200,000). It is located west of Isfahan and is increasingly becoming a part of Isfahan Metropolitan area.
Najafabad is the birthplace of Grand Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Montazeri and Mostafa Moeen. It is also the hometown of Iranian-American poet Dr. Mahnaz Badihian
The city serves as a trade center for agricultural products in the region, and is noted for its pomegranates.
One of the attractions of Najafabad is "Arg-e Sheykh Bahaie" that recently has been repaired.
