Nansha District, formally known as Nansha New Area, is a district of Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. Port of Guangzhou is located within the southern portion of the new area.
The Nansha Technology Development Zone was carved out of Panyu District in 1993. In 2005 it was named Nansha District. It was designated a State-level New Area (国家级新区) in September 2012, the sixth such area.
