Nation Towers is the name of two skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Construction history

The construction of the towers was sponsored by International Capital Trading and constitutes a joint venture between Arabtec Construction and National Projects and Construction (NPC), and the first project these two firms have worked on together. The initial bid for the construction project is priced at $435 million dollars (Dh1.6 billion).[1] The design of the towers come from the WMZH Architecture firm, who won an international design contest.[2]

Building description

The two buildings are located directly at the Abu Dhabi Corniche and will have 65 and 52 floors. The Nation Towers are expected to be completed in 2012 and will have apartments, offices, a shopping mall and a hotel. Once completed, the complex will offer approximately 278,709 meters of usable space. This will include a 5 star hotel with 350 rooms, spas and a fitness facility. It will also be home to upscale boutique shops geared towards high end consumers.[3]

Both buildings are connected with a skybridge at a height of 202,5 meters which connects floors 50 and 54. The skybridge is the highest in the world.[4]
