The unicameral National Assembly of Togo is the country's legislative body. It has a total of 81 members who are elected in a party list proportional representation system. Members serve five-year terms.
Following the 2007 parliamentary election, political party distribution in the National Assembly is as follows:
- Rally of the Togolese People (RPT) - 50 seats
- Union of Forces for Change (UFC) - 27 seats
- Action Committee for Renewal (CAR) - 4 seats
In the previous parliamentary term (2002–2007), party representation was as follows:
- RPT - 72 seats
- Rally for the Support of Democracy and Development (RSDD) - 3 seats
- Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) - 2 seats
- Togolese Youth Movement (JUVENTO) - 2 seats
- Believers' Movement for Equality and Peace (MOCEP) - 1 seat
- Independent - 1 seat
Six women occupied seats in the 2002–2007 National Assembly.
Abass Bonfoh is the current President of the National Assembly (since 2005).
