The National Autonomous University of Honduras (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras) is the national public university of Honduras. It was founded in 1847 and has many campuses throughout the country.

Autonomy[edit]

On October 15th, 1957 the autonomy of UNAH was passed by decree and since then UNAH is receiving 6% of the government's educational budget.

Campuses[edit]

University city[edit]

The main campus is in the country's capital of Tegucigalpa and is home to the university's Medical School hospital and campus.

Other campuses[edit]

Other major campuses include the Unah-vs (UNAH Valle de Sula) located at San Pedro Sula, the Centro Universitario Regional del Litoral Atlantico (CURLA) located at La Ceiba, and the Comayagua Campus. It is currently Honduras' largest university in terms of student enrollment and one of the largest university systems in Central America.

UNAH Library[edit]

UNAH Library system was founded in 1970, it has more than 16,000 volumes, internet website, electronic books, all campus in UNAH have their own library.
