The National Autonomous University of Honduras (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras) is the national public university of Honduras. It was founded in 1847 and has many campuses throughout the country.

Autonomy [edit]

On October 15 of 1957 it was ruled by decree the autonomy of UNAH, since then the UNAH enjoys a condition of receiving 6% of the government's budget for educational purposes.

Campuses [edit]

University city [edit]

The main campus is in the country's capital of Tegucigalpa and is home to the university's Medical School hospital and campus.

Other campuses [edit]

Other major campuses include the Centro Universitario Regional del Norte (CURN) located at San Pedro Sula, the Centro Universitario Regional del Litoral Atlantico (CURLA) located at Comayagua, and the Comayagua Campus. It is currently Honduras' largest university in terms of student enrollment and one of the largest university systems in Central America.

UNAH Library [edit]

UNAH Library system was founded in 1970, it has more than 16,000 volumes, internet website, electronic books, all campus in UNAH have their own library.
