The Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil ("National Civil Engineering Laboratory"; abbr. LNEC) is an institution of the Government of Portugal, based in Lisbon. It:
- Develops research on civil engineering.
- Applies know how in order to solve real problems on construction fields.
- Provides information on these matters.
It was founded in 1946 and has approximately 1,000 workers, of which over 40% hold a university degree.
