[edit] Career

After she was spotted and recruited with 1998's television commercial appearance by a current entertainment production, she made her debut in 1999.

In 2002, Katō appeared alongside Masanobu Ando in the film TOKYO 10+01, which was heavily influenced by Battle Royale, in which Ando had portrayed the character Kazuo Kiriyama. Coincidentally a year later, she appeared in the sequel, Battle Royale II: Requiem, as a member of the terrorist group Wild Seven. She also portrayed the Kamen Rider franchise first official female Rider, Kamen Rider Femme.

In November 2010, Akita Prefecture chosen her as one of the two official PR-Ambassadors, along with Nozomi Sasaki, with the purpose of creating a better image of the prefecture.[1]

Katō is known for being an anime & manga fan,[2] tokusatsu and video game addict.[citation needed] She is a big fan of the anime series Gundam and Slayers, and of the voice actresses Megumi Hayashibara and Hikaru Midorikawa. In addition, she hosted an anime information program called "Nakki Punch" (ナッキーパンチ) by Animax from 2002 to 2004 by her request of appearance in programs related with anime. Kato is also known for loving cosplay, dressing up as Lamia Loveless ([1]) when she appeared in Super Robot Wars: Original Generation 2's television commercial.
