Nautica Thorn (born Shauna Tokumi;[1] June 13, 1984) is an American pornographic actress.

Early life[edit]

Born in Waipahu, Hawai'i,[3][2] Thorn is of half Japanese, a quarter Puerto Rican, and a quarter Hawaiian descent.[2] Her mother works as a secretary, and her father is in the construction business.[2] Thorn revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 14.[4]

Career[edit]

Growing up in Hawaii, Thorn's first job was working in promotion and marketing for a record company at age 14.[5] At 16 she relocated to California, where she worked at a coffee shop and at Melrose boutiques. She later said regarding the move, "When I was a little kid, I already knew I wanted to be a stripper."[3]

After she turned 18, Thorn began working as a stripper, then went from dancing to nude modeling, followed by masturbation scenes and later hardcore sex.[4] Thorn was discovered by a talent agent in a club.[6]

Thorn was a cast member of the Fox Network reality TV show My Bare Lady. She was also briefly featured as a lap dancer in the 2007 feature film comedy, Knocked Up.

In 2011, Complex magazine ranked her at #21 in their list of “The Top 50 Hottest Asian Porn Stars of All Time.”[7]

Personal life[edit]

In an August 2008 interview, Thorn mentioned that although she grew up eating meat (and asking her mom to send her Spam after she moved to the mainland) she is now a vegetarian.[8]

Thorn has been married.[9]

Legal issues[edit]

In 2007, Thorn filed for a trademark registration for her stage name;[10] however, Nautica filed an opposition to this registration.[11]
