Nautica Thorn (born Shauna Tokumi[1] on June 13, 1984) is an American pornographic actress, director,[2] model and stripper.[7][8][9]

Early life[edit]

Born in Waipahu, Hawai'i,[3][4] Thorn is of half Japanese, a quarter Puerto Rican, and a quarter Hawaiian descent.[4][5][7] Her mother works as a secretary, and her father is in the construction business.[4] Thorn has revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 14.[5][7]

Growing up in Hawaii, Thorn's first job was working in promotion and marketing for a record company at age 14.[7] At 16 years-old, she relocated to California,[5][7] where she worked at a coffee shop and at Melrose boutiques. She later said regarding the move: "When I was a little kid, I already knew I wanted to be a stripper."[3]

After she turned 18, Thorn began working as a stripper, then went from dancing to nude modeling, followed by masturbation scenes, and later hardcore sex.[5][7] Thorn was discovered by a talent agent in a club.[5][8] She has been a contract girl for AMA Video and has hosted Spice Clips on Spice TV and Nightcalls Hotline on the Playboy Channel.[9]

Thorn was a cast member of the Fox Network reality TV show My Bare Lady. She was also briefly featured as a lap dancer in the 2007 feature film comedy Knocked Up.[6][10][11]

In 2011, Complex magazine ranked her at #21 on their list of “The Top 50 Hottest Asian Porn Stars of All Time.”[6]

Personal life[edit]

In an August 2008 interview, Thorn mentioned that, although she grew up eating meat (and asking her mom to send her Spam after she moved to the mainland), she was a vegetarian.[12]

Thorn has been married to a fellow adult performer in the past.[5][9]

Legal issues[edit]

In 2007, Thorn filed for a trademark registration for her stage name;[13] however, Nautica filed an opposition to this registration.[14]
