New Style Radio 98.7 FM is a community radio station based in Birmingham, England and broadcasting to the city's African-Caribbean community. New Style 98.7 FM, launched on 14 August 2002, was born out of 15 years of short term radio broadcasting and training.
The service is supposed to be reflective of multicultural Birmingham, but at the same time should be of African Caribbean culture and aspiration. It is historical as it was the first licenced African Caribbean radio station in Britain.
Newstyle Radio is ran mainly by unpaid volunteers and is part of the Afro-Caribbean Millennium Centre (Charity No: 519691) a registered charity setup to support the educational and socials needs of the Afro-Caribbean community in the West Midlands.
