The New York Wizards are a professional basketball team based in Deer Park, New York. They play in the Eastern Basketball Alliance and their head coach is Greg Cerillo, Sr. They were founded in 2008.

Coach Cerillo has been involved in Long Island Basketball for over forty years as a youth player, player, Junior High Coach, High School Coach, College Coach, and now as a Professional Coach. Coach Cerillo was part of the first College Basketball Program formed at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue and his outstanding play earned him an invitation to the CBA's Open Tryouts in Washington D.C..

As a High School Coach at Long Island's Faith Academy Coach Cerillo took one of the smallest High Schools on Long Island (with a total boys and girls enrollment of approximately 58 students) and molded them into a competitive program often playing and beating schools with enrollments in the thousands. Coach Cerillo's winning percentage at Faith was .700 including two division championships, one league championship, and 3 IPPSAL Coach of the Year awards in 5 years. Joining the College ranks (Southampton College 2003 / St. Joseph's College 2004) saw Coach Cerillo's success continue. Working with Coach John Mateyko, and in only his second season as Associate Head Coach at St. Joseph's College (05/06) Coach Cerillo assisted Coach Mateyko in leading St. Joseph's to its best record in almost two decades (16-9).

Coach Cerillo began his professional coaching career as an Assistant Coach with the American Basketball Association Strong Island Sound in 2007 where the team finished with a 5-1 record before folding when financial backing halted.

In 2008-2009 Coach Cerillo assumed his current position as Head Coach of the EBA New York Wizards. In just 6 seasons Coach Cerillo's Teams have made 4 Final Four appearances, won 5 division titles, and produced an overall record of 44 - 15, a .750 winning percentage.

Coach Cerillo was runner up EBA Coach of the Year in 2010 and was selected to coach the Northern Division of the EBA in the All Star competition in 2012. In 2013 Coach Cerillo led his team to an EBA Championship with an undefeated season in league play. For his efforts Coach Cerillo was voted Minor League Coach of the Year (EBA) for 2013.

Coach Cerillo's players and teams have been cited for their strategy, preparation, efficiency, talent, and fundamentals.

Listen to what former NBA Official Jesse Thompson stated about Coach Cerillo when one of Coach Cerillo’s players reached out to Mr. Thompson for an overseas playing opportunity: "Thanks for your prompt response--and your playing for Coach Cerillo speaks volumes about your work ethic, character and performance. He is the absolute best X and O coach I ever seen in minor league basketball--should have been in the BIG SHOW as far as I am concerned. I officiated there for 10 seasons 1980-1990.”
