The New Zealand Public Service Association (PSA) is a trade union representing over 55,000 members who work in the public sector and State Sector in New Zealand. Examples of core public sector jobs in New Zealand include; Inland Revenue [1], Social Workers and Conservation Officers. Examples of jobs in the wider state sector include health care, education and local government jobs.
The PSA is funded by its members. The fee is based on what the member earns and increase as salary increases. In New Zealand the law allows for the fees to be deducted from the employees wages.
The PSA is affiliated with the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, and Public Services International.
