Newlands Spring Primary School was founded in 1981. It has seen 4 Head Teachers; Mr. A Leek, Mr. J Roser, Mrs J Bridges and Mrs S. Edom-Baker. In 2008, some of the current year fours buried a box containing many things from the school and schoolchildren so that when the school becomes 50 years old they can dig it up and see what life was like. It is located in the gardening area.
Newlands Spring Primary School is home to an award winning choir club who sing annually in the Royal Albert Hall and various other places. The choir is now run by Mrs Edom-Baker herself as well as Mrs F Hargreeves.
The headteacher annually conducts her school and around 20 others at the Royal Albert Hall to raise money for Barnardo's charity. She records the CD that goes along with it. Currently, the school needs a new hall to fit all students and she is raising money herself.
The school has a teaching system of organising entire classes from reception all the way up to year 2 to learn to play the violin after the government granted them 45 free violins, 10 free cellos, 5 double basses and free lessons.
