Newport Crown Court

Newport Crown Court is a Crown Court venue in the city of Newport, South Wales. It is located to the front of the Civic Centre complex. The Crown Court is part of the Wales Circuit of Her Majesty's Courts Service.[1]

In the system of courts of England and Wales, the Crown Court deals with serious criminal charges and with less serious charges where the accused has elected trial at the Crown Court instead of trial at a magistrates' court.[2] The Crown Court also hears appeals against conviction and sentence from Magistrates' Court.[3]
