Ngcobo (formerly Engcobo)[2] is a town in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
Ngcobo has the status of a local municipality within the Chris Hani District Municipality of the Eastern Cape.
Ngcobo was situated in the former Bantustan of Transkei.
Ngcobo was originally founded by Sir Walter Stanford, English nobleman, govner, businessman in 1844,as a white settlement farming area. The name "Ngcobo" means lush-spring, reeds, longgrass or wet bush in most popular language the townsfolk speak, isiXhosa. This town is a home to many differrent peoples (amaXhosa,Chinese traders, Pakistani, north African traders and a lot more) For a long period the town has been reguarded as one of the most natural beautiful towns in the province.This town has one of the big families in the Eastern Cape which are the Jezile family. Having a rural area that you mainly find the Jeziles at most, there you get celebrates and quite ressponsibile people. khulile Jezile was a father to quite a number of children one which is Zamokuhle Jezile. In having a last born son Zamokuhle Jezile he also did quite alot of things around South Africa the likes of the KZN( Mtubatuba ) which Mr K Jezile got to bound or be involve with the Zungu Family. Interacting with this family with thier daughter B.B Zungu. which they had three kids. That way the Jezile family will be alive for ever because of the spreading done all over the world.
