During the offseason, he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers organization and was assigned to their Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds, for 2008; he became a free agent following the season. In 2009 Ungs signed with a Taiwan team, the Brother Elephants, but was released shortly afterwards. He then returned to the Florida Marlins organization with their Double-A Affiliate, the Jacksonville Suns. He is currently pitching in the Australian Baseball League for the Melbourne Aces.
