Det. Nola Falacci is a fictional character on the NBC-USA Network series, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, played by Alicia Witt.

[edit] In Major Case Squad

Falacci is introduced in the episode "Seeds" as the temporary partner of Det. Mike Logan (Chris Noth), assigned to the Major Case Squad of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), due to Det. Megan Wheeler (Julianne Nicholson) going over to Europe to teach American police procedure to European police officers.

Starting with her first assignment, Falacci displays an abrasive and volatile personality and take-charge attitude during investigations; this leads her commanding officer Danny Ross (Eric Bogosian) to label her "not much of a people person." Logan excuses her, and replies that after so many partnerships where he was the hotter head, now he is looking forward to being the diplomat for a change.

When Wheeler rejoins the team in the episode "Contract", Logan stated to her that Falacci now is training at the FBI Academy in Quantico. However, this scene was removed from subsequent airings of the episode.[citation needed]

[edit] Personal life

Falacci is happily married, with three children. She is Irish on her mother's side, and Italian/Sicilian on her father's, as is revealed in the episode "Courtship".
