Noon Chai (also called Kashmiri tea, Pink tea,[1] and Sheer Chai) is a traditional tea beverage from Kashmir.[2] The name "noon" comes from a local word for salt.

Noon chai is made from special tea leaves, milk, sugar, salt, pistachios, almonds, cardamom, and cinnamon.[3] A pinch of baking soda is added to help give it more of a pronounced pink color. It is often consumed in Kashmir in the morning and evening. It is also consumed in many parts of Pakistan at special occasions, weddings, and during the winter months when it is sold at many kiosks.
