[edit] Route description

NC 905's northern terminus is at N.C. 130, just southeast of the town of Whiteville. Near the Brunswick County line, NC 905 joins N.C. 904 for a one-mile (1.6 km) stretch through Pireway before independently terminating at S.C. 905 at the South Carolina state line, two miles (3 km) south of Olyphic, N.C.

From the South Carolina state line, N.C. 905 continues as S.C. 905, which crosses SC 9 at Longs, S.C.

[edit] History

N.C. 905 was born sometime between 1954 and 1963. Its number was designated to correspond to South Carolina's S.C. 905, which was designated as a daughter route of S.C. 9.[citation needed]
