The Northern Forest Archipelago, or NFA, is a micronation in the northeastern United States. It consists of various members' properties in the Northern Forest. Since these bits are not connected, they are said by the NFA to be an archipelago. The NFA is very environmental in its laws and themes, environmentalism being the reason it was founded.

While the NFA is certainly a respectable entity of the area that contains it, it is important to note that its namesake actually refers to "The Northern Forest," a span of 30,000,000 acres (120,000 km2) that covers northern Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.

The NFA flag, designed by the king, has the national colors of blue, green, and white, along with several pictures. The NFASEB, the official unit of currency, is equal to one hour of labor or US$10. It comes in coins and paper money. The NFA uses a wide variety of Ed Abbey quotes, such as their motto.

[edit] Publicity

The Northern Forest Archipelago was featured in Micronations: The Lonely Planet Guide to Home-Made Nations. It is a member of the League of Small Nations.
