Northern University, Bangladesh (Bengali: নর্দান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) or NUB is a private university in Bangladesh. It was established in 2002. The university was sponsored and founded by International Business Agriculture & Technology (IBAT) Trust, a registered non-profit and non-political voluntary organization. NUB has two more campuses, one at Rajshahi and other at Khulna.
Keeping in step with the rapidly increasing demand for higher education, the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh passed the Private Universities Act in 1992. Following the Act, Bangladesh witnessed a sudden flux of private universities with the promise to provide higher education to students that will be at par with global standards. In 2002, a group of eminent academics recognized this exponential increase in demand and established Northern University Bangladesh in order to bring quality education within the reach of students with modest economic means. Sponsored and founded by International Business Agriculture & Technology (IBAT) Trust, a registered, non-political, non-profit voluntary organization, NUB made its foray in to the field of higher education and established itself as a center for excellence. Currently Northern University Bangladesh has expanded to hosting a number of campuses 4 of which are situated within the city and 2 more in Khulna & Rajshahi, with affiliations & accreditation with international institutions in its effort to provide education that can provide students with all the tools needed to face the challenges in any chosen career from any specialized field & the global industry. NUB has been authorized to confer degrees & certificates in all branches of knowledge including Business, Arts & Humanities, Computer Science & Engineering, Law, and Pharmacy & Public Health within the levels that includes Bachelors, Masters, M Phil & is in the process of acquiring the level of Ph. D. in collaboration with foreign universities. Being owned & managed by group of academics under the illustrious & reputable banner of Institute of Business, Agriculture & Technology (IBAT), Northern University Bangladesh serves not only provide higher education to the deserving students with moderate means but also aims to mould individuals with a specifics skill set along with the value of social responsibility. Northern University Bangladesh believes in building a better future for the citizens of Bangladesh by enhancing its socioeconomic empowerment. Now, Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) is a government approved private university, run by Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) Trust. The Trust is a registered, non-political, non-profit voluntary organization. The members of NUB Trust who are mostly eminent academics feel the need for utmost efforts to bring quality education within the reach of students with modest economic means. 
Vision of NUB is to take part in the collective efforts to improve lives of the people in the region by offering opportunities to obtain knowledge and skills essential for better living in the new century. Its vision in brief is “Knowledge for innovation and change”. 
Mission of NUB is to offer such programs of study and related opportunities as will be directly linked to socioeconomic empowerment of the people of the country. It will also conduct educational, research and developmental programs of high quality at affordable fees.

Accreditation & Collaboration
Northern University Bangladesh has been accredited by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and its curricula as well as programs have been approved by the UGC. The President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is the Chancellor of NUB. The Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor and the Treasurer are appointed by the President of the country.

The university also is shaped by the unique resources available through its location in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh .The registered office of Northern university Bangladesh is at: Sher Tower; Holding No-13, Road-17, Banani,Dhaka-1213.
Beside Registered office, the NUB has three other campuses in Dhaka: City Campus: 93, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka-1215.
Business Campus : House # 54, Road # 4/A, Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi Dhaka – 1209. Mirpur Road Campus: 24, Mirpur Road Campus (Opposite of Dhaka College )
