OBM OBM is a groupware, under Affero GPL v3 licence, which allows users to store, organize and share appointments, contacts, emails, links, documents and has add-ons like project management / planning.
The server is reachable via a web browser or fat clients such as Kontact, Novell Evolution, Konqueror and Outlook. OpenLDAP is used as the directory service and POP3 or IMAP is used for email.
All the features of OBM (contacts, calendars and tasks) are also available via connectors for Mozilla Thunderbird and Microsoft Outlook XP/2000/2003 (connector not free).
OBM synchronizes with most PDAs and Smartphones, either using ActiveSync or with direct synchronization. Supported platforms include PocketPC and Windows Mobile, Palm, Symbian for mobile phones, iSync (Mac OS), and Blackberry.
OBM is based on standards such as SOAP, LDAP, iCal, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, SyncML.
