Ōgata (大潟村 Ōgata-mura?) is a village located in Minamiakita District, Akita, Japan.

Oga Peninsula and Ōgata Village

As of 2011, the village has an estimated population of 3,242 and a density of 19.1 persons per km². The total area is 170.05 km².

This village is made up entirely of reclaimed land. The area was originally Hachirōgata Lake.

It is world wide famous for Solarcar rallye and Eco car races.

The NHK Ōgata Transmitter is located in the village, It is used for transmissions on 774 kHz with a power of 500 kW.
