Oldsmobile produced a "multicylinder" straight-8 engine in the 1930s. This was the company's top engine choice from 1937 until the 1949 introduction of the Rocket V8.

The only displacement offered for the Olds straight-8 was 257 cubic inches (4.2 L). It was a conventional side-valve engine.
