Hitachiōmiya (常陸大宮市 Hitachiōmiya-shi) is a city located in the north-west in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 48,108 and a density of 100.74 persons per km². The total area is 348.38 km². The city was founded on October 16, 2004 when the town of Yamagata and the villages of Gozenyama, Miwa and Ogawa were incorporated into the town of Ōmiya to form the new city.
