OpenChoice is an Internet filtering option being developed by librarians for libraries to use if they choose to implement an Internet filtering policy.

OpenChoice is being developed as an open source application by researchers at the University of Texas at Austin. It will use state-of-the-art machine learning technologies to identify potentially non-suitable sites, but rely on library personnel to actually vet the individual URLs. Thus, a consortium of librarians work together to create the filter.
