Orthodox Christianity in Turkmenistan

Orthodox Christianity in Turkmenistan is a major proportion of Christianity in Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan has a Muslim majority. The Orthodox are about 5% of the population.[1] There are Armenians in Turkmenistan.
Russian Orthodox Church [edit]
The Russian Orthodox Church is under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Archbishop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.[2] There are three Russian Orthodox Churches in Ashgabat, two in Turkmenabat, in Mary, Turkmenbashi, Balkanabat, Bayram-Ali and Dushauguze one each.[1] The highest Russian Orthodox priest in Turkmenistan is based in Ashgabat.[3] There is one Russian orthodox monastery, in Ashgabat.[3] Turkmenistan has no Russian Orthodox seminary, however. [3]
