Ottawa Fury FC is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Ottawa, Ontario. Founded in 2011, the team made its debut in the North American Soccer League in 2014.[1] On February 26, 2013, the name Ottawa Fury FC was officially unveiled.[2]

The franchise currently plays at TD Place Stadium in Lansdowne Park.[3]The Fury's first game in TD Place Stadium was on July 20, 2014 against the New York Cosmos.[4][5] During the spring season, OFFC played at Keith Harris Stadium on Carleton University's campus, due to renovations being performed on TD Place.

History[edit]

On June 20, 2011 NASL announced that an Ottawa expansion team would join the league once the stadium is ready in 2014.[6] The Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) was named as the ownership group of the club.[7] The team replaced Ottawa Fury SC, of the USL PDL, in 2014.

Stadium[edit]

The club will play their home games at TD Place Stadium in Lansdowne Park. Due to the on-going construction at TD Place, the club reached an agreement with Carleton University to stage its 2014 North American Soccer League (NASL) spring season games at Keith Harris Stadium on the Carleton University campus until the construction finished. The agreement with Carleton University will allow the Ottawa Fury FC to play all five home games of the 10-game 2014 NASL spring season at Carleton while construction of the team's permanent home at Lansdowne Park is completed in time for the fall season.[8]
