PGDCA means Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Applications. It is a course in India for graduate students interested in Computer applications. This course was started for people to learn computer applications in different fields like banking, insurance and accounting. PGDCA allows students to seek professional computer knowledge. APGDCA is "Advanced Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Applications" which is for 2 years. PGDCA and APGDCA gives students the career prospects of becoming System Analyst, Software Engineer, Training Faculty, R&D Scientist, EDP Manager and many more. One can use these PG Diplomas with their respective bachelors degree to acquire jobs that require both computer and specific knowledge(biology/statistics/chemistry/business). Also PGDCA/APGDCA with for example 4 year Bsc degree in Biology can be evaluated to be equivalent to be Bachelors of Science in Computer science.

The Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) is offered by Technical Boards or Universities in India after 10th or 12th grade. The PGDCA is a Post Graduate Diploma which is a one year course in India that a student can take after Graduation -- that is after Bachelor Degree in any discipline or needs to have DCA to enroll for PGDCA program.

This course is for the ones who doesn't have a computer background.
