Padma Ratna English School was founded in 1975 and it was situated at the home of the founder of the school, Sri Salam Khetra Singh (near Wari Khamnangba Leikon). After some years it was shifted to the lower part of Kakching called Panjou Palum. At that time that place was like a jungle but after the coming of this school it became a very good place for study, with a good atmosphere, and less population (the best place for a very good school).

'At Present Padma Ratna English School is relocated at Kakching Wairi near Mantak village."Padma Ratna English School" which is shortly known as PR English school is one of the best schools in Thoubal district and as well as in Manipur in all fields like facilities, faculty and infrastructure.
