The school's mission statement is listed on their website as being:
- "Palmer High School is committed to offering students a well-rounded curriculum designed to promote learning as a lifelong process. As an inclusive institution, Palmer High School encourages a focus on purpose, honor and scholarship as students attempt to discover their abilities and to reach their greatest potentialities through participation in a variety of academic, artistic, co-curricular, athletic and community activities."[5]

For the 2007-2008 school year, Palmer High School enrolled 673 students in grades 8 through 12. Out of these students, 94.1% were Caucasian, 1.5% were African American, 2.2% were Hispanic, 0.3% were Native American, 0.1% were Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander and 0.3% were Multi-Ethnic. About 51.6% of the student population is male, while 48.4% is female.[3]
