Palmetto High School is a high school located in Palmetto, Florida. The school's athletic teams are known as the Tigers, and the school colors are red, white, and black. The school's principal is former NFL player Willie Clark. The school currently serves over 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12. Palmetto High School was originally opened in 1957 and rebuilt in 1999. They have also recently built a new auditorium. They have also built new rooms and hallways. Under the direction of Tim Hamand, Palmetto's Marching Band was undefeated at the regional level in 2005. After a triumphant season the Marching Tigers went on to compete at state level in the FMBC semi-finals, where their color guard finished in fifth place.
