The Para-Malay languages are a group of languages spoken in central eastern Sumatra. They appear to be the languages left behind by the expansion of the Malayan languages across the Indonesian archipelago.

The languages are Minangkabau, Duano’, Pekal, Urak Lawoi’, Negeri Sembilan Malay, and Central Malay (Bengkulu, Ogan).
