Tramway line T2 (Trans Val-de-Seine) is a tramway in France. It connects Porte de Versailles, Paris, with La Défense, just outside the limit of Paris. It opened in 1997, mostly on converted SNCF right-of-way, and was extended in 2009 into Paris, from its southern station of Issy Val-de-Seine to Porte de Versailles.
Because of the success of this line (115,000 people use it daily[1]) the trams were doubled in length in 2005, raising the capacity of each tram to 440 passengers.
A northwest extension to Bezons, along boulevard Mission Marchand (La Garenne Colombes) and boulevard Charles de Gaulle (Colombes) is under construction, with operational completion scheduled in 2012. It will greatly enhance the connectivity for both business and residents to the Paris public transport network. Journey time from Bezons to La Défense is expected to be 12 minutes.
