Parkland Region, Manitoba

Parkland is the name given to a region in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located in the western part of the province, lying between Lake Manitoba/Lake Winnipegosis and the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border. The region comprises three of Statistics Canada's census divisions of Canada: Manitoba Census Divisions No. 16, No. 17, and No. 20, which together have a land area of 28,209.93 km² (10,891.91 sq mi) and a population of 44,253 (2001 census). The largest population centre is the city of Dauphin. The second largest is the town of Swan River. Riding Mountain National Park and Duck Mountain Provincial Park are both located in the region. Manitoba's highest point, Baldy Mountain, is also located here.
