Parshas truma is a yearly Jewish event, mentioned in Art Spiegelman's Maus. Each Saturday, a section of the Torah was read - this was called a parsha; one week a year was the parshas truma. In Maus, while in a prisoner of war, Vladek (Art Spiegelman's father, the protagonist) volunteers for a labor assignment and has a dream where his dead grandfather tells him he will get out of the place free on the parshas truma. When asked, a fellow prisoner who happens to be a rabbi tells Vladek that the next parshas truma will be in the middle of February, 1940. [1]
