Pasir Ris MRT Station (EW1) is the terminal and above ground station of the East West MRT Line in Singapore. The station is located at the central part of Pasir Ris New Town.
A possible North Shore Line in the future will link with this station, giving residents a direct link to Punggol, Sembawang and Changi Airport.
Pasir Ris MRT Station was one of the many stations was built in the past above ground with no platform screen doors to prevent commuters from falling into the train tracks. However in 13 August 2009, Pasir Ris MRT Station was the first above ground MRT Station in Singapore to be retrofitted with half height platform screen doors in 2009. [1] On 1 November 2009, the platform screen doors are fully completed and the first station to have them operational. [2]
